Ancient prayer Shirvan Marasali, dated 1796, collector's rug.

Shirvan Marasali with mirab with the typical ornamentation of the field with the characteristic Marasali flame boteh, also called boteh in pine cone, which thickly cover the bottom in various polychromy. Enigmatic botehs, with a species of cockscomb turned in an alternating direction, stand out against the blue background, repeating themselves in an orderly and meticulously perfected manner in the typical diagonal alignment. In the mirab it seems that the author wanted to draw a comet and a myriad of little stars. Decorative motifs with stars and stylized decorations thickly decorate the whole field surrounding the botehs. This very ancient example of a Marasali prayer has been so tightly knotted that it has the thickness of a fabric. In fact the rug does not even weigh a kilogram.

It is not a Shirvan Marasali to use on the ground and walk on it, but to hang.

The carpet is from 1796 (to the right of the mirab you see the date 1211 of the Hijra), This is only to collect given its venerable age. We made him make a Plexiglas structure to hang it appropriately for the importance of the piece. In fact, those who purchase this historic masterpiece will also be given the structure. Hanging in this way the carpet does not suffer trauma because the weight (so to speak) is distributed over the entire width. Ancient prayer shirvan Marasali, dated 1796, collector's rug. Countless prayer rugs were produced in Shirwan district. Between the villages of Bidjov and Cijili there is that of Marasali; right here the Shirvan Marasali were knotted. The Shirvan Marasali carpets are considered among the most beautiful carpets of the Shirvan area.

Maintenance is simple: draw it in slowly as if it were an ancient tapestry without detaching it.
