The city of Senneh, Kurdistan, has probably produced the thinnest rugs knotted of the ancient Persia and his style was preserved for centuries. This is true for the thinness of the knotting as for the development of particular techniques of weaving and for the pattern, that offers a vast elaboration of pattern coming from other cultures. The accuracy of pattern, the precision of the knotting, the coloration and the chromatic harmony, the composition of the field, of the angles and of the borders make of the Senneh the most important product of the Persian art in carpets, both knotted than weaved in tapestry or kilim. Just as this rare couple of old manufacture, in which the splendid polychromy exalts the floral pattern (Gol-and-Mirza-wings) of the important central medallion.
