A little more than 100 km from the border with Iraq and about 500 from Tehran we find ourselves in the province of kermanshah, known for the rocky reliefs Taq-and bostan, a group of great rocky reliefs that since the Persian sasanide Empire have been well preserved up to the middle of the day. In the carpets of this region are frequently used medallions, boteh motifs and herated subjects, composed of a flower in the centre of a rhombus and four acanthus leaves that surround it, and whose name derives from the city of Herat located in north-western Afghanistan. The colors in kermanshah rugs range from red to old pink, from green to blue, much used also beige, rust and salmon. For further information go to the glossary.
